Tshirt from Flagstaff, AZ, vintage skirt and boots, California Select headband.

Listening to: Ghost in the Machine-The Police. Favorite track: Every Little Thing She Does is Magic. I was super confused about this album cover and I've been trying to figure it out for a while. It looks like an alarm clock or something, but it is aaactually a digital representation of the band. Sting is in the middle because he had spiky hair at the time. I was left slightly more confused once I learned this information. I was expecting an a-ha! moment.

Today was unfortunately very gloomy, and my beach plans were cancelled. Instead, me and three friends went to the best cozy little cafe and I got a free white chocolate mocha (my buy ten, get one free drink card was all filled up!) and took these pictures. After changing, we played some games of doubles tennis. Actually, I wouldn't call them games because we can get it back and forth maybe three times and half of the time the ball goes into the next court. We spent a lot of the time making up ridiculous cheers for our teams.

In other news...this is my 100th post!

God these took forever to get posted correctly. I'm having problems with my picture hosting websites again. And I'm not so great with HTML.

Anyways, I'm so excited about these pictures, they're from a little photoshoot I did with my friend Mia and my family's old Canon 35mm film camera. Also, I had a polarizer filter on the lens which I didn't know at the time, but it made a lot of the colors in the pictures super cool. For instance, my new header wasn't edited by me at all! It just turned out that way. I can't wait to do it again, but next time with no hats. They left huge shadows on our faces, which is cool if you're going for that mysterious look...but me not so much.

On me: Thrifted shirt and vintage Betsey Johnson skirt.

Record: Hey Jude-The Beatles. Favorite track: Don't Let Me Down.

On Mia: Old tshirt I cut, Forever21 shorts, hat from Urban Outfitters.

Record: Time Pieces: The Best of Eric Clapton. I picked my record based on the fact that my hat slightly resembled the one John Lennon is wearing. When picking a record for Mia, I pulled this one out of the cabinet randomly, and what do you know? Her hat is almost identical to the one on the back cover.

Thrifted dress and crochet sweater, vintage boots, Lucky Brand belt. I got this dress for $1 a couple months back and I had never worn it because I wasn't too sure if I liked it. I decided to try it out on Friday when I was figuring out something to wear with this sweater I had recently thrifted. I ended up getting a few compliments, so I guess it turned out better than I thought!

Today consisted of biking to my favorite burger place to watch the World Cup with a couple friends, swimming in the ocean for the first time in months, walking our bikes up multiple ridiculous hills to get back home, hosing off to get refreshed, and a mini photoshoot with one of my friends and my 35mm film camera. It was a wonderful day, and we ended up biking 6.4 miles in all! I hope everyone had a great day too

birthday wishes

Photobucket

Clockwise, from top left corner: Topshop, Topshop, Modcloth, Modcloth. I've been feeling very whimsical lately, and I just want to dress like a woodland fairy all the time. I've also been loving these colors lately, probably because I barely have any of them in my closet.

Photobucket
American Apparel (I basically told my friends to combine their money and buy me this for my birthday), Modcloth, Topshop, The Queen's Wardrobe (by the way, every item of clothing on their website is so amazing, I just want it all!)
As you can see, the color palette of these clothes is...almost exactly the same as the dresses above. I did that on accident for the most part. Maybe the little touch of blue reminds me of the ocean.
Photobucket
Topshop, American Apparel, American Apparel (vintage), Etsy. I've been wanting a bag like this for a while now. This one is a bit pricey and I've seen a lot of similar vintage ones at the flea market in LA, I just never have enough money with me. I'm definitely going to get one this summer.
I've been wanting those socks for months, and I desperately need some new sunglasses...
Photobucket
Free People, Free People, Topshop. Wooden platforms are on the top of my list at the moment. I probably look at the second pair everyday, no joke. After I saw The Runaways I wanted some wooden platforms instantly. They have such a perfect 70s feel. As much as I LOVE Jeffrey Campbell, I would rather not spend so much on shoes. Hopefully I can find some vintage ones for cheaper...I can even paint the leaves on.
I've also been wanting some oxfords, I just never got around to buying any. I like the lace on these too.
Photobucket
Topshop, Topshop, American Apparel. Is it only me that's been eyeing the Topshop makeup collection? And is it only me that played around with their virtual makeover? I made my picture look ridiculous by piling on black mascara and eyeshadow and lipstick and had so much fun doing it. I recommend it for a time waster.
And I've heard a lot of good thins about AA's new nail polish. They have some wonderful colors!
Photobucket
Lastly, I've been wanting Led Zeppelin III and Help! on vinyl for probably a year now. These records are one of the couple I need to complete my Beatles and Led Zeppelin record collection.

As you can probably tell from the title of my post, my birthday is coming up, July 11th! I'll be sixteen. These are a few of things I'm hoping the birthday fairy will deliver, or that I'll maybe buy with birthday money. I do know for sure that on my birthday I'll be going on a vintage shopping spree and getting a free slurpee from 7-11! I'm excited.

Speaking of exciting things...yesterday was my last real day of school! I just have to go on Wednesday to do my final presentation, and then tenth grade is officially over. Hopefully it gets sunny today so I can head down to the beach

Secondhand crochet dress (I had been wanting one for quite some time now, and I got this from a store I had credit with so it all worked out nicely!), Lucky Brand hat, Betsey Johnson socks and shoes.

Listening to: The Sound of Music Soundtrack. Favorite track: Sixteen Going on Seventeen.

I haven't had much time for outfit posts because I've been busy with school and other things. All I have to say is that the last week of school should not be as stressful as it's about to be, and that I will never be happier when summer finally starts! I'll have so much more time on my hands

sticky fingers

The Rolling Stones have been showing up a lot on my Tumblr lately, and if you're a frequent reader you might have noticed that I post with their records quite a bit (here, here, here, here, and back when I started my blog here. That is more than I actually expected.) We have 22 albums of their's (I counted yesterday), so I don't think I'll be running out any time soon. They are also some of the most genius album covers ever in my opinion. I have yet to blog with my favorite cover of their's, Sticky Fingers, which has the front of a pair of jeans on the cover which actually has a zipper.

I've been listening to their albums even more than usual lately and since I haven't had time to put an outfit post together I thought I'd do a post about them! I'm not going to give a history of the band or anything, but I wanted to pay tribute to one of my favorite bands. I actually saw them in concert once, when I was only two months old! They have some seriously amazing songs, and for every mood too. I was just telling my friend today about how much I love Mick's voice. I was trying to explain that thing he does with his voice which I just can't describe! It sort of...skips sometimes? Angie from Goat's Head Soup is a good example of this.

This post is also slightly fashion related, since I just love their wardrobe, and I desperately want Keith Richards' cape...thing, despite it's sort of ugliness. And I would also like to steal Mick's red glasses.

I had the problem of a couple of the pictures I originally had in this post being huge again. The problem seems to fix itself if I leave them in Photobucket for a little while before posting, so I'll try adding them again later.

And thanks everyone, I reached 100 followers!

I bought this vintage dress for $1 about a month ago. It was horrible, but I liked the color and doily-type thing on the front. When I put it on, my friends laughed, and my dad told me to go back to the kitchen. However, after a significant amount of hemming and sleeve and back butchering, I quite like it! Probably my best buy in terms of saving yet. I completely meant to take a before picture but I was so excited to start my little project that I forgot! I wore an American Apparel tube bra underneath. The ankle cowboy boots are my first buy from Etsy! They're from Old Baltimore Vintage.

Listening to: Genesis-Duke. Favorite track: Behind the Lines. Like I sometimes accidentally do, I didn't show the record very well in most of these, so I took a quick picture of the album later when I realized my mistake. It doesn't go with the rest of the pictures at all, but I wanted the cute little man to get his proper role in my post.

Happy (almost) Friday everyone!
