American Apparel tank and tube bra, Blue Man shorts (a bikini brand here in Brasil).

Roamed around downtown Rio and Lapa (an area right next to downtown) for a few hours today in the extreme heat. I had to keep my outfit very simple, as you can see, in the 85 degree weather (although a wonderful cup of acai helped with the heat!) Some of these pictures are also taken on the Escadaria Selaron, which is right by where we're staying. I first went there when I was about 9, but I guess it's gotten pretty famous in the past few years. I noticed that I look a little sad in these pictures, but I think it was just the heat! I didn't take a record with me today, but I did bring a couple with me on my trip (Brasilian records, of course) and maybe I'll be buying some more on the street one of these days.

I haven't had the chance to go to the beach yet, but for Easter we're probably going to the beach town of Buzios and then next week we're staying in Ipanema.

I hope everyone who is on Spring Break is enjoying it!

I arrived in Brasil a couple hours ago! I'm staying for two weeks. I should have internet most of the time I'm here, so hopefully I'll be blogging frequently. This is my first time here while having a blog, so I'm going to be going crazy with picture opportunities. I'll probably end up doing a photo diary type thing too.

Anyways, here are some pictures of my dog Giselle that Nora took posing with a vintage hat. I already miss her!

Vintage coat ($20 at an estate sale!), hat, and Betsey Johnson dress and gloves. Via Spiga shoes. I hosted a Clue party at my house last weekend! It was really fun, I love a chance to dress up. I actually ended up being the murderer, which I didn't know until the end of the game. We thought my neighbor's 1916 "horseless carriage" was the perfect place to take a group picture.

Listening to: James Bond 007-Thirteen Original Themes. Favorite track: Goldfinger. This record was very suiting for the party.

You can find this look on Chictopia here!

Vintage cape and boots, skirt I made, tank from Urban Outfitters. A cape isn't something that I would usually buy, but when I saw it on the rack in Flashbacks, I was so attracted to the color (my favorite) that I decided to get it! I probably won't wear it much but I love it anyways.

You can see this look on Chictopia Here

Listening to: Best Of Earth, Wind, and Fire. Favorite track: That's the Way of the World.

The weather here has been so nice! I just want to be at the beach, but the water is still freezing and I hate tanning, I would much rather be swimming. But I am going to Brasil in a week, so waiting that long won't be hard at all! I've been there plenty of times, but each time I get equally or even more excited. I need to practice speaking Portuguese too, since the only time I really get to speak is in class once a week.

Happy Friday! I'm really glad it's the weekend, I'm hosting a Clue themed murder mystery party tomorrow for my friend's birthday!

Vintage Levis, Betsey Johnson top, glasses, and cardigan, American Apparel socks. Sometimes glassless glasses bother me, but I saw these along with another great pair at an estate sale and I loved the frames. The lady who owned them was practically blind so I had to push the frames out.

Listening to: Born in the USA-Bruce Springsteen. Favorite track: Dancing in the Dark. I learned the other day that this was the first CD pressed in the US. I wonder if they did that on purpose? Also you get to see my record cabinet! I've been meaning to show it for a while.

So, has anybody ever noticed that my blog header has been spelled out wrong this whole time?!! It was spelled Shoelless Simone instead of Shoeless Simone (which looks so wrong in print, but for some reason looked right to me in cursive?) My friend just noticed after all these months, but nobody has ever said anything about it before so either they were being polite or just didn't notice, along with myself! I'm a little shocked actually, I'm usually really into things being spelled right. People using the incorrect form of your is one of my biggest pet peeves!

Vintage sweater and Betsey Johnson skirt, handmade bow, boots from LF that are slowly falling apart (probably from wearing them in the rain)

Listening to: What's Going On-Marvin Gaye. My favorite song is the title track.

I made a Tumblr a few days ago, Boogie With Stu! I am really liking Tumblr, there are so many great blogs on there. If anyone knows of a good one to look at, or if any of you have one, please tell me!

There were some very creepy handprints in my friend's apartment garage that I had never noticed.

Vintage dress, DKNY tights (I wrote dress before, sorry if that confused anyone)

I forgot a record this night!! Sometimes when I go out I'll remember at the last minute, but I've never actually forgotten. It was like being naked. It also makes coming up with a post title much harder, since I always pick a track title from the album I'm holding. I picked a track off of the album I'm listening to right now (Born to Run-Bruce Springsteen) instead.

Tuesday nights are the best night of the school week. Besides Fridays, it's usually the only day when I have no activities and I can relax and have so much extra time on my hands!

Some slightly boring pictures from last weekend. I was aiming more for comfort than anything (I also look a little funny in the second picture). These leggings are the most comfy things I've put on in a while, and people were stroking my legs all day when I wore them to school.

I think I'm going to put close ups of the records more regularly now. A lot of the time you can't fully see the details in my pictures, which makes me angry because most are so cool to look at.

Vintage sweatshirt permanently stolen from dad, American Apparel velvet leggings and headband.

Listening to: Exile on Main Street-The Rolling Stones. Favorite track: Tumbling Dice. According to Chris Epting in his book Led Zeppelin Crashed Here, this song is the #1 roadtrip song. It's definitely worth a listen (well more than just one listen for sure, it's an amazing song). The whole album is really good, and I actually just listened to it for the first time a couple weeks ago which is weird because we've always had it

Vintage suede skirt, boots, and lace tank, American Apparel tube bra, hat borrowed from Dad. I know I wore the skirt in my last outfit post and the boots a few posts down, but I just love them both so much!

Listening to: Out of the Blue-Electric Light Orchestra. Favorite track: Mr. Blue Sky. Possibly the best summer song, and very suiting for the very hot day these were taken on, I think it hit 80. I just want it to be like this every day so I don't have to wear tights all the time and just walk to the beach in high-waisted shorts and crop tops and not go to school (aka summer). Only one more season between now and then!
