fascination

Vintage shirt, skirt from Totem in Brasil.
Listening to: Young Americans-David Bowie. Favorite track: Fame.

Today, my friends decided to cut a worm in half to see if the whole one worm turns into two thing works. I protested quite a bit, and they really should have listened. That worm is now dead. (I think?) Other than that tragic moment, today was a great day. Our water polo team won their game 20-5!

boo.

Since Halloween is coming right up, I decided to make a couple of collage things for fun. It definitely took me quite a long time.

The picture of Mick Jagger is really very strange. He looks quite a bit like a woman...(on purpose?). This semi-scary picture of him made me think of this whole idea. I wanted to do more, but I'm tired and couldn't really get any more inspired!

Definitely my favorite part of Beetlejuice (one of my favorite movies too, actually)

white heat

Vintage Betsey Johnson dress.
Listening to: Rock n Roll Animal-Lou Reed. Favorite track: Rock N Roll.

More pictures from the desert (well, around that area). On one of our off-road adventures, we found the site of a burned down house. Although there weren't any house ruins, the old rusty electric saw and lonely windmill were really like something out of a scary movie, but a good place to take pictures!

thorn tree in the garden

Vintage skirt, American Apparel shirt, shoes from Urban Outfitters.

Listening to: Layla-Derek and the Dominos. Favorite track: Bell Bottom Blues.

I took a trip to the desert for the weekend. It was mighty hot but a lot of fun. I was very disapointed to learn that my favorite place to get milkshakes closed down! We found another place though. It was my dog's first camping trip! She was a happy camper.

steppin' stone

Vintage everything (besides my flip flops and watch). Everyone kept asking me things or making comments about my shirt, like if I was from Cleveland, when really I have no idea who the Browns are and I'm not a football fan at all, I just like the shirt!
Listening to: Children of the Future-Steve Miller Band. Favorite track: Junior Saw it Happen. The writing at the bottom of this cover is extremely cool. I couldn't figure it out at first. Look it up and see if you can figure it out.

sea of time

Vintage shirt and vintage Betsey Johnson pants.
Listening to: Yellow Submarine-the Beatles. Favorite track: Hey Bulldog. I try not to repeat bands with the records I pose with, but we have so many Beatles that I figured it was time to post another. I'm probably going to throw in another Stones or Led Zeppelin soon, because those are also ones I have a lot of (which works out, since those are my 3 favorite bands). Also, the covers are so amazing, especially the Rolling Stones. I mean, can you beat an actual zipper on a photograph of jeans? Andy Warhol was a genius. Maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Speaking of the Stones, this shirt is from the first concert I ever went to! I was only a couple months old, but I attended the show in Oakland. I actually bought the shirt this year on eBay, after stumbling upon the merchandise catalog from the concert in a book I was reading at home. I think it's extremely cool.

Have a nice evening, Simone

PS. That furry animal lurking in the background is my dog, Giselle.

purple again?

I think I need to lay off the purple. Although, in my defense, it is a very light shade of purple, and it has a lot of blue in it, but maybe I'm colorblind? I really like the structure of this shoe, and it's just simply wonderful how it's also paired with a sock. I think that's partially why this picture stood out to me. I love socks!

In the meanwhile, I am very excited because my dad bought a scanner today. I have been wanting one for a while!

your sister can't twist (but she can rock n roll)

Vintage shirt and shorts, California Select headband
Listening to: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road-Elton John. Favorite track: Bennie and the Jets.

It's definitely a lazy Sunday. I just want to go to sleep right now.

open sesame

I saw this spread in Harper's Bazaar and instantly fell in love. I just thought it was a really cute spread, the way it shows really beautiful clothes but brings you back to to Kindergarten at the same time. There isn't much I have to say about it, but I just really love it for some reason.

Hasta la vista, Simone

over the hills and far away

Vintage skirt, American Apparel tank
Listening to: Houses of the Holy-Led Zeppelin. Favorite track: The Rain Song. I think that song is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. It's really beautiful and pretty much amazing overall. It's one of the two songs I can play on the guitar!

This is also one of my favorite albums of them, but it's tied with four others : Led Zeppelin II, III, IV, and Physical Graffiti. Every time I try to narrow it down, I just can't! Houses of the Holy really makes me want to dance, though, more than the other albums do for some reason, especially Dancing Days!

all day and all of the night

Vintage dress and sunglasses, American Apparel cardigan, Havaianas flip flops and bag my friend's mom knit for me!
Listening to: Kinks Greatest Hits-the Kinks. Favorite track-You Really Got Me. If you look at the album up close (it's actually really hard to find a picture of it online by the way, but if you search Kinks Greatest Hits LP it will come up) their teeth are pretty hilarious! Those British.

Cheerio, Simone

In honor of Gossip Girl starting pretty recently, I wanted to show my adoration of the character Blair Waldorf. She is not only my favorite character on the show, but mooost definitely is the best dresser (although I guess she doesn't dress herself). Her clothes just seem to have so much elegance, always! My favorite is probably the look with the yellow shirt.

So now I'm going to start on Halloween costumes-I have like six to make in 29 days!
