I bought this dress at Animale, a store in Brasil. I actually think it's probably a nightgown, but I couldn't resist it. I just want my closet to be full of dresses that are flowy or airy and make me want to run in a field like this one or frolic in a forrest. I wore a vintage slip and tube bra from American Apparel underneath to conceal its see-throughness. I made the headband out of scraps from making this skirt.

Listening to: Flowers-The Rolling Stones. Favorite track: Let's Spend the Night Together. I feel like I blog with Stones records very often, but I wanted to find the perfect record to match this dress and I knew this was it right when I spotted it!

This week felt like it went by terribly slow, but it also feels like last weekend was just yesterday. Aside from hanging out with my friends earlier tonight, I am going to keep this weekend very relaxing!! I realized I haven't had any relaxing time alone since before my trip. I plan on spending the weekend finishing a dress that has been on my dress form unfinished for a couple months, a trip to Target to check out the new Zac Posen line, practicing guitar, and a take home trigonometry quiz. Sometimes it is just wonderful being boring.

You can find this on Chictopia here and Lookbook here. I also had my sister get a Lookbook which I am very excited about, you can find her's here!

Vintage skirt, American Apparel leotard, shoes from Urban. I wore this to Day at the Docks, which is basically a boating festival down at the bay. I bought a floppy hat, ate some calamari, and had a watermelon sno cone. I'd say it was pretty productive. It was also the perfect opportunity to wear this nautical skirt which I always forget I have. I bought this leotard for ballet last week but I want to wear it outside of dance everyday, which is better anyways because it gets double the wear!

I took some pictures with my dog for Chictopia's Chic and the Fuzzy contest, which I think is the cutest idea ever. You can see my entry here! You can also see this look on lookbook here

Listening to: Avalon Sunset-Van Morrison. Favorite track: Contacting My Angel.

I cut my Dad's old shirt into a crop top for 80s day at my school a few weeks ago and ended up really liking it. I wore it with a vintage skirt, Diesel belt and vintage earrings. I also straightened my hair for the first time in forever and it feels so weird!

Listening to: Let's Dance-David Bowie. Favorite track: China Girl.

Some month-old pictures consisting of two of my favorite items from American Apparel and a random green hat I found in my house. The shirt is actually a dress, which is amazing and I feel like it's a different take on the classic little black dress.

Listening to: The Final Cut-Pink Floyd. Favorite track: Your Possible Pasts.

I'm going to check out the garden collection at h&m this weekend; way later than everyone else I feel like. Hopefully there's still some good stuff left, I have my eye on a couple floral dresses on the website that look like they would be perfect for frolicing barefoot in an open field of grass and flowers (something I have yet to find in San Diego)

Vintage Betsey Johnson pants, Escada shoes, and beaded sweater.

Listening to: A Hard Day's Night-The Beatles. (This record is actually the Brasilian version). Favorite track: I Should Have Known Better.

I came home from Brasil to my mint green room that was freshly painted right before we left. It had been the worst color (one of those green-brown colors that's perfectly fine for a living room but not so inviting in a bedroom) since we moved in a year ago. We recently asked our landlord if we could paint it, and he said yes! I think I'll be wanting to spend much more time in there. It feels so much more open and spacious now.
I took some silly pictures with this 70s phone I got at the swapmeet a while back. Because of the lack of phone jacks in our house, I still don't even know if he works, but he is so cute I just had to get him. He's one of the few random old objects in my room that I like to pick up here and there.

American Apparel shirt, Totem skirt (Brasilian brand), hat I bought on the beach, glasses from an estate sale. I wish these were sunglasses and not just frames, but I couldn't resist the pink and purple and clear all in one (not really visible, which is too bad), for only $1!

Because I didn't have my own record with me, I posed with the one that was sitting on the old gramophone in the lobby!

These past couple days have been quite the adventure. We spent the weekend in beautiful Buzios, which is a beach town a couple hours away from Rio. (More pictures later!) I love the ocean and hadn't gotten to swim in it since Summer, so it was amazing. We stayed an extra day and planned to go back on the bus Monday afternoon. All went smoothly on the three hour trip until we arrived in Rio to the beginning of the biggest storm in the city's history!! With barely any taxis or busses going out of the bus station, we were stuck there for six hours. We finally caught a bus and then a taxi back, arriving at our destination at 2am. It's lucky that we didn't have to spend the night at the bus station, because early the next morning I got food poisoning or some kind of flu. I couldn't keep anything down all day, but luckily I've gotten much, much better since yesterday. I guess it was just some kind of 24 hour thing, thankfully! I hope everyone has had a better two days than me, but at least things have been looking up. I'm heading home on Saturday, so bye until I get back!

Also, I've reached 50 followers! (51 to be exact). Thank you everyone, it really makes my day. And I'm sorry if I've taken a while to respond to comments, the internet is a little slow here so I'll get to it all when I get home!

An outfit even simpler than the last. I made this dress, though! It even has pockets which aren't really visible in the pictures, but I was quite pleased with myself for figuring out how to do that. I wear these sunglasses way too much; they are one of my only pairs, I really need to get some more!

We went up to the mountain town of Araras for one night (sadly not longer). It is so beautiful up there, I'll be posting more pictures when I do a photo diary of the whole trip. The weather was also a wonderful cool down from Rio.
