lost and found by trial and error

Yesterday, I wen't up to the Long Beach Funk Festival to see my sister perform (http://www.babystonelive.com/). It was a faaantastic show. These are a couple pictures from when I got back home, nothing too exciting.

California Select vintage romper, and California Select headband.
Listening to: Steppenwolf the Second-Steppenwolf, favorite track, Magic Carpet Ride

I thought I would take a moment to talk about how much I love records! Record shopping is one of my favorite activities. I think that record covers are really great pieces of art. You can tell that so much thought and creativity went into each one. I find them extremely exciting. Opposed to CDs, which are the complete opposite. Yeah, maybe the sound of a CD is a little better (although I personally like the somewhat scratchy sound of a record), but on a CD can you unzip the pants on Sticky Fingers, change what's in the window of Physical Graffiti, or read a huge picture book in Magical Mystery Tour? Nooope.
Well, that's all I have to say(for now) about my love of records. But I promise you will seeing plenty more of our impressive record collection soon!

Ciao, Simoneee

if salazar slytherin designed a pair of shoes...

I think that shoes are some mighty fine pieces of art. My favorite shoe master has to be Christian Louboutin. It's pretty much my goal right now to own a pair of those, in the near future. Here is a pair from the Summer 2009 collection that I find quite amazing...
I'm always drawn to shoes in snake skin for some reason. There were some other nice ones in a light blue snake skin that I really loved from this collection too, but these really caught my eye because of the extremely cool thing in the front (I don't even know what to call it, a flower?) They're like the opposite of a mullet: business in the back, party in the front! I don't even know how much they cost (I'm guessing over $1000?). If you wish to do any early Christmas shopping for me, head over to the Last Call Sale at Neiman Marcus, see if they're half off! ;)

Cheers, Simone

Oh, I'm a size 6 1/2 by the way

watching the wheels

I thought it would be fitting for my first real post to feature one of my favorite people! John Lennon is obviously a very influential person in terms of music, but is definitely not known for his style (except as a group in the early days of the Beatles, but they were more of a look together, not individually). And although I wouldn't consider him an especially stylish dresser either, I really liked this picture!

I really liked the simplicity of his outfit below the neck (especially his boots) and then on his head it's like, WHOA! The hat is really humorous and wild. It somehow just all goes together; the colors look good together. It's very unexpected!

a private peek at my shoe rack

With a few exceptions, these are about all the shoes I have in my closet. About ten pairs of Havaianas (which I DO love, and some of which are broken, thank you giselle) but about zero pairs of a certain red soled shoe I would really like to own.

Don't worry, this blog isn't all about my depressing lack of shoes! I will be writing plenty about other things too.

Hold your horses, Shoeless Simone will be back real soon!
