Me and my friend Rebecca did a little photoshoot today! (photo cred Nora as usual)
It was quite fun, and we also took some on my film camera which I'm excited to develop.

I'm wearing a vintage dress and thrifted blouse thing, and Rebecca is wearing my crochet dress that you might recognize from one of my posts about a month back. Sorry this is quick, but I have to go do loads of homework for my summer art program and also watch Pretty Litle Liars. Woo! Happy Tuesday everyone

American Apparel leotard and socks, Silence and Noise skirt from Urban.

Listening to: Led Zeppelin II. Favorite track: Ramble On.

Just hanging out in a bathtub, no biggie. Some broken shower rods were involved.

Went to the Santa Monica pier for the first time in a long time on Saturday...it was so crowded but so pretty. We rode the ferris wheel (I wish we could have gone on more rides but they are so expensive!) and the view was gorgeous, as corny as that sounds.

Anyways...a few weeks ago I had been looking at a vintage blue fringe suede halter similar to this one on ebay and was rather tempted to buy it. Then the very next day, I found this one at a secondhand store! It was destiny. I didn't really have anything in my closet to wear with it that wouldn't make me look overly western or hoochie mama until I bought these amazing American Apparel shorts. I want to wear them everywhere!

Sorry about the lack of record in my last couple posts...like I said I'm in LA for the month and only brought a limited supply.

Vintage dress and hat, shoes from Urban, bag from flea market.

This is a very quick post since I don't feel like writing much at the moment. Hope everyone is having a great summer, I am ridiculously glad that it finally got hot! This is the July I'm talking about!

My sister got me this vintage dress in Paris! It's pretty long and I usually don't wear long dresses. I'm in LA for a while and don't have my sewing machine, so I used a belt to make it shorter for the time being. However, by the time 4 oclock rolled around, my dress was at it's full length! I actually like it, even though I resemble a granny on vacation. It made me look ridiculously tall in the 6th picture. My friend bought me these sunglasses as a birthday present at the flea market! The hat is from Urban.

Listening to: Rio-Duran Duran. Favorite track: Rio.

These were taken on my 16th birthday on Sunday. The day consisted of watching the World Cup and having neutral feelings about the winner, buying lots and lots of vintage clothing at the flea market, free slurpees from two different 711s, a beanie baby with my birthday which is something I've wanted my whole life (!!!!!!), an ice cream cake with my picture on it, and the first sunny day of summer! Overall a fantastic day. Thanks to the readers that told me happy early birthday in my last post!

Thrifted shirt, vintage Levis and boots (sorry I wear these in every other post). My sister bought me this purse in Paris (thanks, Nove!) and I've been wearing it basically nonstop.

I went to Hollywood today for the first time in years and the wax museum for the first time in my life. It was way cooler than I expected, and I was slightly creeped out when I first walked in.

Oh and guess what? Tomorrow is my birthday! I already had a delicious pre-birthday dinner at a yummy indian place and when I came back home, my friends surprised me with a sign on the door covered in quotes from Mean Girls (one of my favorite movies ever) and my bed covered my favorite candies. A good preview for tomorrow!

Some pictures with my sister from the fourth of July. I was pretty proud of my patriotic outfit: a vintage Betsey Johnson bustier, vintage shorts and boots. I had some delicious ribs and pasta salad, and my grandparents got rather patriotic and actually started marching around the house to the patriotic music on tv.

The record is Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America, which is an album of comedy songs about how the country came to be, pretty much. My favorite is Betsey Ross and the Flag.

Vintage Rolling Stones shirt from their 94/95 tour, which I actually went to, so it makes the shirt so much cooler in my opinion. I was two months old at the time. I also wore my American Apparel disco pants, which I love. They are so comfortable. About a month ago, I went into their rummage sale with the mindset that I was going to find a pair of these. I guess my determination worked, because I found one lonely pair amongst all the leggings! They are extra small and I had to fix the broken zipper, but they are amazing anyhow and I got them for almost $70 off. Although the next time I wear them, if one more stranger makes a comment about my "skinny jeans" I may freak out on them.

Anyways, these are from the county fair which I went to a couple days ago. I had a delicious frozen banana, watched my friend unsuccessfully try to win a giant stuffed banana, and rode many fun rides. Overall a good day.

Speaking of good days, today was great! It was the first nice day in San Diego since last week so I went to the beach and it was so pretty and refreshing. It was also my last day here for a month. I'll be in LA for the rest of July, but I'll be blogging plenty from there.
The only thing bad thing about today was the fact that Brasil, my favorite team, had to go ahead and lose in the quarter finals. I wasn't up early enough to watch the game, but I'm almost glad I didn't. I'm horribly sad about it. I don't even know who I'm rooting for anymore!
